A fat man in a red suit
The time is here to reveal the previously undisclosed contents of the mail I got last week! I wanted to grab my laptop and write about it the moment I saw it, but I had to restrain myself (and cajole myself with a teaser post) till the time was right. And that time is now!
As you may have noticed by my excessive use of the exclamation mark, I am very happy. We all know about Santa Claus but I wonder what an uninformed person would think if you tried to explain the concept of him. A fat man in a red suit sneaking into your house after you sleep is not very comforting, is it? It was this train of thought that led me to make an awkward aunty standing next to Santa. I wanted it to be a funny depiction of the holidays (and not disrespectful in any way). A while back I found a sweet deal online to get postcards printed, and I took it as a sign that I must get my idea on the computer. A couple of hours to make the illustration, some minutes to place the order online, and within a week the postcards had arrived!
As I may have mentioned earlier, I love getting things in the mail, and even though its rare, every time I do I am filled with a sense of joy that's pretty indescribable. I guess it's because it's one of the simple things in life. Anyway, I wanted to spread this joy. I enjoyed the entire process, right up to visiting the post office, so it wasn't a selfless deed. A few that were left I decided to post in different places I frequent, like our fridge(ha!), my college, the library, grocery store and coffee shop. Hopefully they'll make a few people smile.

From the moment I received this in the mail to each morning when I see the card perched on our dining table, this card brings me endless joy. What a whimsical, irreverent image. I LOVE it, Priya. You're so talented!
