Black and white

Many months ago, a friend put up a cinemagraph she made on her photography blog. Since then, I've wanted to try making one. And after many months, I finally did (sort of). Hey, better late than never, I say.

So, a cinemagraph is an image that has one or more moving elements. Originally I wanted to try it on a windy day, so that my hair would move while the rest of me was static. But today was not one of those days, so I moved on to plan B, which was the blinking effect. It was difficult to isolate the eyes, because the skin around it moves when one blinks. After a lot of trial and error, I like the result. This isn't the end of experimenting with cinemagraphs though. I definitely predict some more.

The black and white effect on the image is apt since I finally saw 'The Artist' today (it only took 11 months for this to happen). It's so refreshing to see a movie unlike any other at this time. The actors did an amazing job, and my favorite was Uggie (the dog!). If I was a famous movie star, I'd definitely want a dog as a sidekick.

  4. Thanks! A few people thought it was a little creepy, but I sort of like that it is. I'm definitely going to try some more!
