Bits and bites

So, I haven't been able to do anything fun all of this week, and the reason for most part is that I'm finishing up with projects for this semester of college. I'll be done soon, and then in a couple of weeks I'm off to India! But I didn't want to be completely absent during this week, and since the week was all about work, it's apt to share some with you all.

For one class, we were asked to come up with packaging for a fictitious brand of our choice. The sky was the limit, as far as ideas were concerned. Don't think about manufacturing costs, we were told. So I thought hard, and decided to combine three things that I enjoy: patterns, colors and craft. My idea was for a kids crackers brand (named Bites). The bigger box contains three small boxes with crackers. What makes this different from other brands is that the inner part of the big box becomes a doll house!

The inner sides of the smaller boxes contain furniture cutouts, that can be placed wherever needed in the bigger box. Emphasis is given to the child's creative instinct, and children are encouraged to add their own personal touches.

The entire project was so much fun, and I especially enjoyed putting everything together in the end.

  1. Its really a good concept! Totally loved the idea of the child's engagement which went beyond the box itself! :)
