That special time of the year

This is my favorite time of the year in Delhi, and although the location doesn't match the time, I still feel the aura of the festivities back home. It's Diwali today, a festival that has always been close to my heart. Ever since we were asked to write an essay in Hindi on our favorite Indian festival, there was no doubt that Diwali was mine. Of course, in those days the mind was preoccupied with mugging up complicated Hindi words to work into the essays to score those extra points (yes, I was a nerd. I'm fine with that.).

I love this festival for what it represents. It celebrates light, and what can be more uplifting than that? In recent times people seem to have gone overboard, covering their homes with bright electric lights that almost blind me, and lighting crackers that annoy me(and trouble our furry and feathered friends). However, I still hold on to the positivity of the festival. A little light can break complete darkness, and that's a powerful thing, if you ask me.

So, Happy Diwali everyone! And may all your lives be filled with positivity.

  3. Nope. Just clicked a close-up, did some minor cropping. I was in a hurry, so many photos came out blurry. But I took several so found one clear one in the bunch.
