A week in photos

Every weekend now seems like a mini accomplishment when I can count seven photos to share with you all. Mostly I try to vary the pictures so that there is more to show and write about, but sometimes the images seem similar. I guess no matter how much one tries to stray away from the conventional path, routine does set in, in some form or the other. Running is part of my routine now, and hey, you won't see me complaining about that! But here's what my week looked like:

Saturday: Walked by the Rockefeller decorations once again, with the now familiar sight of the Christmas tree, but also the sight of the skating rink! Home Alone flashback, anyone? Couldn't get a good shot of the rink, but some bright trees will do just fine.

Sunday: The sister put on her cooking hat (something she does on many days, lucky me!) and we had a pretty chilled out dinner consisting of tofu tacos (spicy goodness) and litchi mohitos.

Monday: How can one concentrate on running (or in my case, not getting out of breath and falling to the ground) when this little guy sits cutely nibbling on his acorn?

Tuesday: With mum in town, we decided to meet and greet the ducks in the park. We took some breadcrumbs for them, but were promptly told not to feed them (bad luck, you follow me again). Apparently the birds shouldn't get dependent on humans for food, or they won't fly away when they need to. Makes sense, I guess. But these feathered fellows weren't too happy about it.

Wednesday: Our apartment was enveloped in the comforting smell of freshly backed banana walnut chocolate-chip cupcakes. The perks of having an oven that works and a mum willing to do the needful are endless.

Thursday: A trip to Little India ended on a park bench, where we sat a while before heading home. The bench had a random sentence on a plaque, and it looked really pretty against the wood. Apparently one can donate money and have a personalized plaque put up, and this was one of those. I wonder what the story behind it is.

Friday: I got a big bottle of Green Juice from Trader Joe's, and even though it looks like a sample collected from a sewage plant, it doesn't taste bad at all. It tastes like mixed fruit juice, and contains healthy components like Spirulina and Chlorella. Score!

Happy weekend, y'all.

  1. That is the cutest squirrel ever! Teach the duck to fish or something like that. Makes sense... I bet the bench has the sweetest story!

I think I'm also going to set myself a challenge that will require me to recap things I've done so I'll be motivated to do things.

  2. You should, it really puts the time past in perspective. Now I don't need to wonder what I did all week, it's all in my camera! :)
