When my mind betrays me, these pages won't

In an earlier post, I mentioned how I wanted to build the habit of maintaining a diary again. Some time back I came across a lot of my old diaries, and going through them was wonderful. My recent change of location was a perfect occasion to start a new one. Today, I thought it would be nice to share a few pages from it. One reason for this decision is that I discovered an amazing scanner in college. The pages look clearer than they do like in reality! I'm beginning to warm up to technology.

I began the diary at the end of August, when I also began roaming around the city. I always associate places and experiences with a few key sights and moments (the blogger in me is itching to say tags or labels) and I decided to sketch and note those down. When my memory of this time becomes hazy, I can flip through these pages and smile.

As with all of my previous diaries, I was a lot more frequent in filling the pages in the first few months. This is also because these days routine has creeped in, and I'm sad to say I haven't been as explorative as before. But I still note down the things that matter (my last entry was the poem I wrote for Thanksgiving).

In some time, I'll share some more pages. And soon, I hope to fill up the last page of this diary, and blog about a new one.

  1. Wow I love this! You are so talented! I also recently started a journal of sorts but in it I only have about one entry, so far. Just trying to ease myself into it. This is really lovely, Priya.

  2. This reminds me of my high school diaries, because I would just draw, scribble all over. They were nowhere as artsy and clean as your diary, but it makes me want to restart my diary in the disorderly manner I had it.

  3. Pia, you definitely should! I'm sure you'll enjoy going through those diaries in some years.
