Fill my day with color

This Sunday, Flavor of Art decided to meet at Dilli Haat; a place I find almost synonymous to the word color. And it certainly lives up to my perception of it. As before, even today I was welcomed to the ground with an overflow of colors along with shapes, patterns and textures. Having battled with the dilemma of whether to sketch or snap, I took along tools for both. When I reached there, the lens won over the paper, and I spent most of my time clicking things I found interesting. It was a good choice, as I doubt my artwork would have done justice to the place(which is far from true for the amazing art created by some of the people in the group).

Very close to the entrance stood a man in traditional clothes playing the dhol. He placed himself quite perfectly, near the puppets on display that seemed to lend a hand in creating the atmosphere of a mela in a tiny little spot.

People at the stalls were probably used to being shot, and were more than happy to pose!

Even the street performers that went by the ground performed with all their heart, and were thrilled to have people watching and clicking shots of their act. The dancer tried to include the audience by carrying a little child on the horse while doing what he did. The family of the child looked ecstatic to see this happen. The child, however, looked extremely terrified. Is it awfully mean that I found the scenario a little (or maybe very) amusing?

As mentioned before, I am trying to familiarize myself with the manual mode of my camera. The morning out with the lovely folks of Flavor of Art certainly helped me in my understanding. It was a lot of fun.
