Music's in my head

I've always imagined what it would be like if life had the option of a background track. In my head, it does. For example, recently when I was going through a not-so-chirpy phase, I imagined a video montage of the time and getting over it with 'Hey Jude' playing in the background. It's a weird habit, but it does bring a variety to one's daydreams.

The other day I met someone who mentioned how he always listened to the tune in songs and never the lyrics. According to him, he listened to his favorites while working, and this way it was never a distraction. For me, its the exact opposite. The songs that have been stuck in my head for years were the ones whose lyrics intrigued me. Like Moon River, the song that one instantly associates with Breakfast at Tiffany's. Who can hear the first two lines and NOT get an instant dose of confidence?

Bob Dylan is a genius, is he not? His song The Times They Are a-Changing became the anthem of the 60's, mostly because of the lyrics.

Wish You Were Here, by Pink Floyd is probably the song I listened to most in my college years. It's ironic, because my dad listened to the same when he was in college. The lyrics are engraved in my head, forever I'm guessing.

All You Need Is Love by The Beatles is yet another song one can't help but make a video montage of (and by 'one', I mean me). If my life was a movie, this would play in the trailer.

There are many more, and this number is expected to increase in the future. The next step would probably be learning how to sing, to get rid of any situation where a lack of music player proved to be a disadvantage. I suspect that would make me a very obnoxious person to be around in public, but strangely enough that adds to the appeal. Apologies for the usage of pictures from older shoots, I always try to find ways to use ones that didn't make the cut earlier!
